Stillwater Flood and Retaining Wall Project, Stillwater, MN
Client Needs
This project provides flood control and protection to the city of Stillwater. The project is divided into three stages. Stage 3 includes constructing a low floodwall/levee along the western side of Lowell Park.
Rani Engineering Solution
- Completed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) along the proposed flood barrier alignments
- Evaluated subsurface information along the project alignment and in the area of the development
- Identified potential areas of concern with respect to contamination and/or Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) materials

MSB 6901 Diversion Project, White Bear Lake, MN
Client Needs
Phase 1 of the Northeast Interceptor is 34,000 feet of proposed force main interceptor sewer with a capacity of approximately 30 million gallons per day. The upstream end connects to the Upper Beltline Interceptor near the intersection of Highway 61 and I-694 in Maplewood, and the downstream end connects to the Middle Beltline Interceptor near Minnehaha Avenue and Johnson Parkway in St. Paul.
Rani Engineering Solution
- Analyzed floodplain and wetland impacts
- Determined historical and archaeologically sensitive locations
- Recommended contingency plan during construction based on an environmental site assessment by coordinating and reviewing an environmental profile for groundwater flow, water table impact and contaminated areas
